Sunny Hill Foundation is partnering with OCS Institute of Arts and Innovation to host 3 young artists from Kosovo for a 4-week course and masterclasses in Los Angeles – California.

Sunny Hill Foundation is looking for the best young songwriter, producer and performer in Kosovo.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?
If you are between 13 and 17 years of age and you believe that you have a career in the music industry and you are already doing something about it YOU should apply here.
If you write original songs or produce covers of other artists or are a performer you might be going to LA as soon as February 2020

After filling the form and uploading your materials, tell us something about you in a few words: why you should be chosen for this course and what separates you from the others.

The young talents will be selected by Alyssa Lein Smith from Quincy Jones Productions, Ulla Sjöström from Musikmakarna and Mary Kay Altizer from OCS Institute of Arts and Innovation. 

They will spend 1 one month in Los Angeles, 2 weeks of intensive creative days of songwriting, producing, performing at the groundbreaking new OCS Institute of Arts and Innovation in Westlake Village and 2 weeks in the entertainment capital of the world in Hollywood organized by Gezim Gashi who is going to be the mentor and legal guardian for the 3 winners.

The winners are going to spend time with Alyssa Lein Smith and be exposed to the Quincy Jones Productions’ A&R as well as get a unique masterclass and inside look into the entertainment industry. 
Studio tour and meeting with Rami Yacoub, songwriter and producer, hit-maker for Ariana Grande, One Direction, Demi Lovato. 

Kosovo young talents are going to meet Ulla Sjöström and Musikmakarna, the number one songwriting school in the world, a masterclass on how to get the tools and knowledge to write contemporary songs. 

Meet Griffin Hadley ”On how to make it in the industry”, former Day-to-Day manager of Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. 

Studio tour of Jimmy Jam, legendary group and Chairman of TV Committee for the Grammys in US. 

Meet A&Rs from Warner Music, Sony ATV, Universal Music, Disney Music Group, 

Meet James Burnettwho is an American songwriter & entrepreneur. He is the founder & CEO of Burnett Music Group, a music publishing and production company which represents songwriters, composers and producers to create music for recording artists, film & television. 

Full-day tours at Disney Land and Universal Studios, 

Sessions with songwriters and producers from OCS Institute of Arts and Innovation and from the real music industry.

Alyssa Lein Smith Chief of Staff, Quincy Jones Productions

Alyssa Lein Smith is the Chief of Staff & Media Manager at Quincy Jones Productions (QJP) and began her career with the company during her sophomore year at Loyola Marymount University. Through her role, she has production credits on Taking the Stage: Changing America, the dedication concert for the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture; Soundtrack of America, the 5-night opening concert series for The Shed at Hudson Yards; Soul of a Nation Celebration, the official concert dedicated to the Soul of a Nation exhibit at The Broad Museum; and more. In addition to working full-time at QJP, she is a consultant, public speaker, speech writer, musician, and aerialist. As a strong advocate for body positivity and the advancement of females in executive-level positions, she has delivered speeches on the topic to audiences ranging from middle school students, to more than 1,000 top-level executives in the corporate world. Her essay on thought-diversity, which outlines a research-based proposal with implementable practices for companies to utilize, received national recognition by U.S. Bank, Womenetics, and Delta Air Lines. As a result, she was one of only five women in the nation chosen to speak at the Global Women’s Initiative Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. She continues to use her voice, both in public speaking and writing, to affect positive change for various communities in which justice is frequently underserved.”

Mary-Kay Altizer Head of OCS Institute of
Arts and Innovation

Mary Kay Altizer is currently the Department Chair of the Performing Arts and Head of the Institute of Arts and Innovation at Oaks Christian School (OCS) in Westlake Village, CA. She has developed and teaches the digital recording and production program, utilizing Pro Tools and Logic Pro X. She is also a staff writer, arranger, and composer of Oaks Christian. Mary Kay has performed in many musical arenas from symphony pianist to studio work. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music, a Professional Certification in Digital Recording and Production from Berklee College of Music, is certified in Logic Pro X and Pro Tools, and holds a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Azusa Pacific University. Mary Kay has been teaching at Oaks Christian since 2000 and was a recipient of the Atsinger Award for Teaching Excellence, naming her “Teacher of the Year.” She was also was honored in 2018 with a “Distinguished Alumni” award by the Graduate School of Education at Azusa Pacific University for Innovation in Education for her work in spearheading music collaborations with OCS and music schools in Sweden
